A clear guide to Tiny's optional listening and memory features. Effective September 22, 2026.
Voice control, wake-word activation, and conversational memory are separate settings. They are not required to use the account area and can be changed at any time.
When voice control is enabled and you deliberately start a conversation, Tiny sends a short audio segment to the configured speech service to convert it into text. The raw conversation audio is processed for that request and is not retained. Recognized text is sent to the configured AI provider to produce a reply.
Wake-word activation is optional. The device performs the first detection locally. When it detects a possible “Hey, Tiny,” it may send a short recent audio segment to the speech service for confirmation. The segment is discarded after confirmation. You can disable wake-word activation while keeping push-to-talk available.
Memory is a separate opt-in. If enabled, recognized text and Tiny's replies may be stored in encrypted form for up to 180 days, together with a short encrypted summary used to preserve context. You may clear this history or disable memory at any time. When memory is disabled, conversation text is used for the current exchange and short conversational continuity only, then discarded.
A voice message or voice reply is recorded only after an explicit press-and-hold action. It may be stored for delivery for up to 7 days and is not used as conversational-memory content unless you separately choose to submit it to a conversation.
Only an adult may own and configure a hosted Tiny account. If guests or household members may speak near Tiny, place the device and configure its microphone in a way that respects their privacy. Do not enable hosted voice processing for a child without obtaining any permission required in your jurisdiction.
You can disable listening, wake-word activation, or memory from the robot or account settings. You may also request deletion at privacy@heytinybot.com. Disabling a feature does not affect processing that lawfully occurred before the change, but it stops new optional processing for that feature.
